Pitlochry, at the foot of the pinnicled peak of Ben-y-Vrackie and above the woodland shores of Loch Faskally with it's Salmon Ladder, is a visitor's centre in it's own right. 
 
A charming Victorian town with it's bold highland scenery made gentle by it's mixed woodlands has been a popular holiday detination for many years.
 
Hosting two whisky distilleries, one being the smallest in Scotland, museums, gardens, golf course,  theatre, shops and a choice of many eating establishments. 
   
Highland Perthshire is romantic with an intriguing history fascinatingly related through a great range of castles, battle sites and a cathedral at the one time ecclesiastical capital of Scotland.  The castles range from statley home type in appearence like Blair Castle and Scone Palace to the more traditional type fortresses such as Castle Menzies.
   
Dunkeld and Birnam with it's ancient Cathedral and period houses has the perfect setting on the banks of the River Tay.  Enjoy browsing through unique shops, sample good eating places and listening to live music.

There are many fine walks for all abilities from the level of loch shore to forest rambles and hiking the hills.
